Day 5

Bubba and I went scuba diving today.... As always it was spectacular! We went with Tortuga at Morritt's ..... Note to self, they do not let you take off the equipment in the water, so it is a long heavy 5 steps out to the boat.  Excellent canyons to glide through, but we both had issues with buoyancy so we only went through the last one. A one tank dive was $75 Cayman. Tracey hung out in the pool while we were just off shore.  The waves were crazy!  Off to dinner now, I'm starved! 
Ok, so to finish off the day we ate at Tukka.  Huge birds were being fed from the beach when we got there.  The birds would swoop down and take food right from the people's hands.  I don't know if I would have dealt well with that, it looked like an Alfred Hitchcock movie!  The food was great.  Bubba had both kangaroo meat and lion fish, so he can cross two more off his food bucket list.... I don't think he really liked either one.  I almost forgot, the full moon over the restaurant was spectacular.  Off to bed again, what will tomorrow bring?

Shipshewana, IN

Today we went to the Amish town of Shipshewana. It always seems odd to see horse drawn black buggies driving along the streets with all the cars and trucks. The town has a small central area that is full of shops. You could buy a quilt in any color of the rainbow, and some of them do have all the colors. They are kind of pricey, but if you think about how much energy it must take to make such an intricate work of art without electricity, can be just mind boggling. Furniture is another big one here, but it won't fit under the seat on the airplane. Today was Len's 70th birthday. Happy birthday Len! It's hard to believe I have a 70 year old brother! Well, we're leaving tomorrow, so it's off to bed....

Oasis of the Seas

Yes, we are on vacation again.   This is day 2 of a week long cruise around the Caribbean.  Today was an "at sea" day, so for me that meant a lot of sleeping.  There are a lot of pools on this ship, but we couldn't find any shade, I can't spend more than a few minutes in the sun without hearing my skin start to sizzle.  We went to a midnight comedy show, and it was extremely funny..... The first headliner's luggage got lost, and of course he was on the big D..... His favorite line.... What does delta stand for? Don't Expect Luggage To Arrive.  You have to admit, it is kind of catchy.  Tomorrow we go to Haiti, that could be interesting.  They say there is a very large fence between RC's property and the island itself...... Hmmmmm.  Time to go to sleep 1:34am......

More time driving and finally in the North

Wednesday we started our drive towards the North.  Again it was really long.  The scenery is beautiful everywhere.  We saw lots of sheep and cows and even a few horses and donkeys.  Even though it is still nippy, the grass is incredibly green every where.  We finally made it to Balina.  Len has a friend who lives a town away, so there was a reason for this stop.  We met his friend who he has known for over 50 years, then they went to eat and the three of us roamed around the very tiny town.  We had drinks at a pub called Dillon's in hope of finding some live music, but to no avail. It's off season still and the music is only on the weekends.  Thursday we drove to where Len's friend, Fr. Steve, works.  It's a nice retreat house and very busy.  They have programs almost everyday.  We didn't stay long, and continued our long drive north.   We made it to Portrush finally around supper time.  We ate at a place called the B...
