First two days in Grand Cayman

We flew in on Friday, the day before our time share because the flights looked much better than Saturday.  Working for an airline does have great perks, but you can't always get where you want when you want to.  We stayed in a Holiday Inn express overnight.  What a great find.  You definitely need a car to stay there, but it's right on the beach and has a nice pool.  There's a pier that goes out into the water with beach chairs at the end.  What an awesome spot to relax.  That's what an island vacation is all about, isn't it?  We ate at a place called Coconut Joe's.  They have fried pickles, yum! Bubba had a burger that was too tall to fit in his mouth and I had a veggie wrap with roasted pumpkin. We shopped for a few groceries at a place called Kirk's.  The prices are reasonable for an island, but the Grand Camanian dollar is worth more than US money, so be careful of what you spend.  Saturday we drove back to the airport to pick up Tracey.  Customs can take a long time, must have something to do with most of the flights coming in at about the same time.  We drove out to the time share which is on the east end of the island.  Another gorgeous property it's called Morritt's.  Our room is on the third floor and this building does not have an elevator. That could be an issue for some people.  It certainly makes you think about what you need to bring up or down the stairs.  On the good side, we have a room with four sliding glass doors that overlook the ocean.  We drove around some more and found another good restaurant this time on the north side.  It was called Kaibo bar and grill.  What a beautiful place at the end of the island and of course, right on the beach.  We got back to the resort just in time for it to start raining, then pouring, then I don't know what comes next, but there was a LOT of water.  When it subsided a little, we made a dash for the bar.  We got there just in time for the rain to return.  We hung out until it let up again and now we're back in the place and I think it's time for bed.
