The start of something new

We are in Costa Rica again, the something new is that we brought our niece this time.  Happy Graduation Samantha!  We went around North America to get here, but the flights looked great and that is what's important sometimes with a buddy pass.  We flew to LAX then to LIR. 14 hours later, and it's hot and humid, it must be Costa Rica during rainy season. The flight got us in very early, and right now, it's only 4 pm and we've already packed in a full day and a nap! Our room wasn't ready yet, we're staying 3 nights at Los almendros del ocatal.  We were here about 6 hours prior to check in time, so it wasn't surprising that the room wasn't ready.  They suggested breakfast, the it would be ready when we returned.  Breakfast was ok, not my favorite meal, but we spent it with two parrots and a large blue jay type bird, then back to the hotel.  This place is definately on the radar to return.  We are up the hill from the beach, I'm actually listening to the waves crash as I type, and the distant rumble of thunder.  We're in a 2 bedroom 2 bath, it has a kitchenette ans is spotlessly clean, we're in room 11.  After dumping all our stuff in the rooms, we went to the monkey farm.  This is a gem of a place we found in October.  After 8 months, we almost didn't recognize the place, but the best part? Baby monkeys! We got to hold one, and he was very content just to sit in the crook of my arm and just watch the world go by.  It is tragic how the monkeys get to this place, some are injured and some are orphaned. Costa Rica has an issue with un insulated power lines and transformers, and unfortunately the monkeys pay the price.  We drove back to the beach at ocatal and roamed around on the black sand, finally deciding it was snack time and ate chicken fingers and onion rings at a bar on the beach.  Yummy!  It's only 5 pm and I feel the day should be over since I'm so tired, but I think we will run to the supermarket and get some breakfast food, the place has a kitchenette.  We'll see what tomorrow brings!
