Day 2 in Cozumel

San Gervasio
Today we went to one of the Mayan ruins on the island, San Gervasio.  It was very interesting.  There was a lot of walking, and a lot of it on muddy and uneven walkways, but it was pretty cool.  We were allowed to climb on most of the buildings and really get a feel for the area.  We took a taxi from the hotel, it was $70 round trip for the four of us.  At the ruins, it was $9.50 per person to get in.  There was an option of a guide for another $20, but we didn't hire one.  There were signs and arrows to get us around easily enough, and the descriptions were in English as well as Spanish.  It took a little over an hour to see the whole place, and there were some stores.  We had the driver drop us off downtown at a restaurant he recommended.  It was very touristy, I'm sure the driver got a kickback, but it was decent food and about a three block walk to the dock.  We went through a few stores and then came back to the hotel.  The hotel has it's own beach area across the street that is accessible through a tunnel that goes under the street.  It is pretty there.  Maybe not great for swimming, it's very rocky and the waves were high, but Bubba went in anyway.  We walked to supper about ten minutes away at a place called Jeannie's.  The food was yummy.  I had crepes and everyone else had fish. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.  Off to bed again!
