Cozumel

We spent the day in Cozumel... not diving.  Yes, I'm disappointed, but it did keep Bubba from drowning.  When we got here, the sun was out and it was beautiful.  Now it is raining and very steamy.  Although we did not get a text from the diving company, I can guess they went out.  Which of course that means that we donated $160 to her shop... Oh well, I guess it would have been worse had he drowned.  I did buy a beautiful earring and necklace set for myself that I wouldn't have bought if we were on a boat, so all is not lost.  What do you think?
I really liked Cozumel, and I'm looking forward to coming back.  The plan right now is next summer/ fall for the whale sharks.  The taxi driver said to stay on the north side of the island, so we'll have to look into it.  He also said there is an all inclusive place right on the beach, I think it was called something scuba diving club.  That sounds like fun since we didn't get in the water this time around.  Maybe next time won't be a donation.

Today we went to the Amish town of Shipshewana. It always seems odd to see horse drawn black buggies driving along the streets with all the cars and trucks. The town has a small central area that is full of shops. You could buy a quilt in any color of the rainbow, and some of them do have all the colors. They are kind of pricey, but if you think about how much energy it must take to make such an intricate work of art without electricity, can be just mind boggling. Furniture is another big one here, but it won't fit under the seat on the airplane. Today was Len's 70th birthday. Happy birthday Len! It's hard to believe I have a 70 year old brother! Well, we're leaving tomorrow, so it's off to bed....

So, this is 50

It doesn't feel any different. I took inventory, and I don't see any extra gray hair or any new aches and pains. Same old gray hair, and same old aches and pains, but nothing new. Yesterday we spent the day on 7 mile beach in Grand Cayman. $4 each one way and we were dropped at the beach. Another $2 each to get into the same stretch of sand that everyone from all the cruise ships are hanging out on. Not for me. We walked through and then walked about a mile up the sand to a shady spot under a tree. Ahhhh, much better. The water was a little chilly until you got used to it, or numb, but after that, floating around was beautiful. We spent a couple of hours there, then walked back to where we came in, rinsed our feet, used their bathrooms and took another $4 each taxi ride back to the port. Not a bad day for February 1st! Today we are in Jamaica. We have not ventured out yet, but we will soon. Hopefully I can find wifi again and post this.... maybe I'll even add so...

canobie lake park

So, who knew that canobie lake park had a halloween event? That's where we went this past Sunday night. There were 3 haunted houses and most of the regular rides were open. We had a lot of fun. Of course it would have been better if it was a LOT warmer. I was freezing! Granted, I'm cold most of the time anyway, but this was ridiculous! There was no where to hide from the cold. I'm sure it has a lot to do with it being a summertime place, but maybe SOMEPLACE to wait that was indoors with a heater might have been nice! Ok, so I know that picture is sideways, but I can't figure out how to fix it. Maybe you can just turn your computer around!
