Red Butte Garden
Well, we are home now, but yesterday we spent the day at the red butte garden. It is beautiful! the formal gardens are landscaped wonderfully. Not all the flowers were in bloom, but it was still beautiful. We followed Zeke's mountain trail along the side of the mountain... not something I would have done if I thought about it, but I don't regret a minute of it. We should have brought some water with us (we're such city people ~ I think we were secretly looking for the escalator to take us back down!) It was very peaceful and relaxing. That does sound strange considering how much we walked! We watched some crazy people biking on a trail up another ridge and thought of Jimmy Mahan..... would he be crazy enough to do that?
When we left, we were starved and asked at the desk where to find good Mexican food. They sent us to the Red Iguana -- can we say YUMMY! Both dishes we got were absolutely delicious and the staff was overly friendly. My meal was so big it definitely could have fed the two of us. The only regret I had was that we were staying in a hotel without a fridge and couldn't bring back the left overs.
To top off our weekend, we went to U2 last night. It just doesn't get any better than that. Oh wait, we were only feet away from the stage! Ok, it doesn't get any better than that! Do you know what it feels like to be feet away from the band that you have followed for over 20 years?? I tell people all the time it's like a religious experience to see them. They never disappoint!
